The virtual reality platform has become a popular house for those who love rhythm games. Take titles like Beat Saber and the recent Ragnarok. They work because they are perfectly lending to the VR support, taking advantage of its more immersive 3D interactivity physically with a great effect.
AVICII INJECTOR: EVERY EDITION, HELLO THERE GAMES, is the last rhythmic title to have reached the Meta Quest 2. Already available on other non-VR platforms, this last iteration resumes the gameplay based on the EDM of the game of Base and amplifies musical action in full three-dimensional glory. It’s a short journey, but Avicii Inventor: still edition is nevertheless pleasant.
This is not a frenetic training game and waving arms as the aforementioned titles, however. You are not cutting boxes or hitting drums here. Instead, AVICII INJECTOR: Even Edition is more relaxed, cold. It’s like the old Guitar Hero games, where hard work is a matter of mental concentration and coordination. You pilot a small spacecraft through 6 different worlds, by pressing the appropriate buttons and touching the appropriate controllers while your vessel flies.
A large part of the Avicii Inventor experience: Encore Edition – Music – also distinguish it from other titles. This game is designed as a tribute to the late EDM Avicii icon, the Swedish DJ whose real name was Tim Berglund. 35 of its songs are included, providing the basis of rhythm marks for each level. I had never heard of Avicii before, but judging by the tracks of the game, I must say that it was amazing.
And Avicii Inventor: Even Edition is indeed an appropriate tribute. As you learn the commands, and you get carried away by the pulse of each song, each pressure on a button and every handle bearing begin to seem intuitive, as a natural extension of your body. Cool and haunting visuals on the 6 worlds (unlocked one by one) dazzle your eyes and encourage you to give up at the song and let it flow.
This does not mean that it can not be difficult, though. Even outside the four levels of difficulty ranging from beginner to difficult, the range of 35 songs of Avicii Inventor: Even Edition gradually adds complexity as you play. Things simply start, with odd pressure on the B button or the left trigger at a regular pace. But soon you will have a wide variety of actions to do, quickly. As the thud of the EDM rhythm, your heart will accelerate as you follow the rhythm with your fingers.
It is a strange combination of relaxing atmosphere with fast movement, to its hardest. And it works. AVICII INJECTOR: EVERY EDITION has allowed me to play and have fun. I also liked the way developers have designed every level to be well-balanced and rhythmic. After a long time of timed action by pressing a button, the levels end with the control of your vessel through floating rings for bonus multipliers. This varies the gameplay well.
Another interesting idea in AVICII INJECTOR: Even Edition is the multidimensional nature of the slopes. In addition to pressing B or pressing the trigger R, you also touch the joystick in the right direction, left or right at the right time. If you do not do it, you will be blocked on the least noted track for the next sequence, missing a pile of points. This really adds a beautiful layer of challenge that allows you to stay focused on the laser.
Now, a note on virtual reality: all this reversal may not be nice for some players. For some reason, I have always agreed with the evil of transport in VR. But if you have had motion problems in previous VR games, know that Avicii Inventor: still edition could ask you a challenge. Imagine basically that you are in Russian mountains that are rolling regularly several times during the track, and you have the idea.
AVICII INJECTOR: EVERY EDITION is another excellent game of rhythm perfectly adapted to virtual reality. If there is a downside, it’s a little too short. The 35 titles, also addictive, can be read in about two hours. Of course, you can complement this length by replaying each song on the four levels of difficulty. But it’s still less content than I would like, even in a VR game. This is particularly a issue since the basic gameplay – fly through valleys or space or iced worlds – does not really change along the way.
If you are a fan of regretted DJ himself, this game is obvious. It was clearly a great talent and music is exceptional. But for all others, AVICII INJECTOR: EVERY EDITION ON META QUEST 2 is always worth binding the Helmet VR and try. The music is excellent, and the gameplay is addictive and fun. If you like rhythm games, but you do not want to sweat (or risk accidentally hitting your family in the head), Avicii Inventor’s relaxing EDM atmosphere: Edition is the VR experience you expect.
