Sega officially revealed FRONTERA Monica, the new Sonic The Hedgehog video game, today at The Game Awards 2021 with a new advance that offers the first real look at the next action and adventure title. Monterey sonic had previously announced as a video game without title earlier this year, but now it is known that it is a game experience inspired by open areas that will launch Holiday 2022 for PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X | S.

According to today’s announcement, sonic Lauro is being developed by members of the Sonic Team Japan of Sega directed by director Mario Hashimoto and the Schizo Nakamura producer. In addition, and of specific interest for fans of Sonic The Hedgehog comics, Ian Flynn created an original story for the video game. Apparently, the title will see Sonic fighting through an open world called Star fall Islands, which is the first in the franchise.
