The two-time Madison World Champion Roger Kluge from Berlin has occupied second place on Sunday together with his Belgian partner Jasper de Buyst in Gent at the 80th sailing race. The duo had to be beaten with 307 points unrestrained with the Belgian local matadors Kenny de Ketele and Robbed Guys (376 points). The Olympic champion and world champion Michael Markov and Lapse Norman Hansen from Denmark lost on the final day after a fall all the chances and occupied third place. In the fall of the final hunt, which had to be interrupted after the accident around 45 minutes, Tour de France record stages winners Mark Cavendish from the UK was involved. While Hansen could finish the race, Cavendish had to be brought out of the hall on a stretcher and give up the race. Before the interruption, Kluge / De Burst was still at the top of the class.
