Next year, the Saints Row series will return in the form of a reboot. The announcement trailer of the GamesCom, however, splits the minds and truly does not like any fan of the wiped chimneys.

For this statement we only have to take a look at the like / dislike ratio of the IGN trailer: around 13,500 people like the presented scenes, while nearly 18,000 thumbs point down. Also on the channels of PlayStation and Xbox the trailer was uploaded. There, the reactions to the video are offset after all.

On Twitter, the responsible persons of the reboots now posted an animated image addressed to the Hatter. As a result, a former Saints Row advocate reported, whose opinion has changed visibly to developers since the announcement was made. He writes that he has always defended Deep Silver Valliction, but his former attitude now feels wasted.

Then they answered the following: We do not make a backshelf in this game. We understood it, it’s new and it’s a shock reaction to a reboot like no other. The GIF should express that.

Reboot more meaningful than a classic sequel

Since the publication of the last offshoot, eight years have passed. According to the Creative Officer, they have decided against a classic continuation because crazy projects with various parodies must capture today’s zeitgeist. But a restart would simply be better suited. However, the roots of the franchise should be respected. The gameplay should also be based on the previous parts.
